THREE TWELVE is a 3-person vocal ensemble whose stated mission is to provide “healing music for wounded souls.” As LGBT persons of faith, the group’s members—Jason Whetstone, Deb McClain, and David M. Glasgow—bring to the table a diversity of religious and spiritual experiences, both positive and negative. Accordingly, the group’s “covered” repertory includes not only contemporary Christian music (as recorded by such artists as Avalon, Natalie Grant, and Andrew Peterson), but also music drawn from more mainstream sources (e.g., Sheryl Crow, Christina Aguilera, and Seal); and the group’s original material often reveals an unromanticized view of religious institutions and faithful living. Equally at home on the concert stage as in coffeehouse and worship settings, 3.12’s message speaks both to regular churchgoers and to those for whom religion holds no appeal. “People hurt. That’s just life,” says Glasgow. “But the good news is, people heal, too. Our music just points to the fact that even painful stories often have happy endings.” For more information, visit threetwelve.net or email info@threetwelve.net.
